At Ricardo Suarez, DDS, we believe that everyone deserves a healthy, confident smile. We do our best every day for our patients by providing excellent service and quality dental care in a relaxing environment. Whether we are working to restore the function or the aesthetics of your smile, we use the latest cutting-edge technology and materials.
One of our goals as a dental practice is to improve the patient experience is by utilizing modern technology. Here are some of the ways we incorporate technology into our West Covina, CA dental office on a daily basis.
3-D Cone Beam
This technology creates a three-dimensional digital view of any aspect of your teeth and jaw. With 3-D cone beam, we can focus on more specific areas of the mouth because it creates a three-dimensional digital view of your teeth and jaw. We can plan more accurate implant treatment, achieve more successful root canals, and get a clearer view of sinus problems.
Laser dentistry provides a minimally invasive way to provide root canal and gum disease treatment. This focused light beam means patients can enjoy faster healing times, less blood loss, and fewer sutures. Many procedures that would have required anesthesia for patients can be done without it.
If you have dental anxiety, we don’t want that to prevent you from getting the dental treatment you need. Nitrous oxide is a great way to make your dental appointment more relaxing. Breathed in through a mask over the nose, it almost immediately gives patients a euphoric feeling—hence its nickname “laughing gas”—while they still maintain full consciousness. It leaves the body quickly once the mask is taken away, so you can return to your normal activities, including driving yourself home after your dental appointment.
If you’ve ever had an impression made the old-fashioned way, you know it’s an uncomfortable process involving a gooey, gag-inducing paste. Now Dr. Suarez can make impressions digitally. Not only do these provide better accuracy, but they are much more pleasant for patients.
In the past, getting a dental crown meant two visits to the dentist—once to have your dentist prepare the tooth, make an impression of it to send to the lab, and get a temporary crown, then a second appointment for your dentist to place the crown. Now you can enjoy the convenience of same-day CEREC technology and have your crown fitted, fabricated, and placed all on one convenient appointment.
CEREC makes beautiful ceramic crowns that will have none of the telltale gray margins at the gumline.
